Newcastle Cycleway Discovery Ride

63 km Loop, Moderate Hills, Sealed paths, some roads

The ride takes in a large selection of Newcastle sights and experiences, including the harbour, marina and still water ways. Ride past the old coal mining village of Wallsend.  Explore some lovely off road tram and rail trails, the beautiful Lake Macquarie, both Merewether and Bar Beaches. The views are fantastic from Strzlelecki Lookout, Memorial Walk and the Obelisk. Visit to the Newcastle Museum and historic TAFE building and the University.

This ride can be combined with the Newcastle Breakwall and Beach Ride to visit even more beaches and the interesting breakwall and Nobby's Lighthouse.

The ride leaves from the main railway / tram station and you can even hire an e-bike as you get off the train if you prefer.
