Vermont's Long Trail Hiking Guide

The original inspiration for the Appalachian Trail, the 271.3-mile Long Trail runs the length of the state of Vermont from the Massachusetts-Vermont border to the U.S.-Canada border. The southern 105 miles of the Long Trail coincide with the Appalachian Trail. The northern portion of the Long Trail is generally considered much more challenging and remote than the southern end.
