Lavender Federation Trail - Hike

The Lavender Federation Trail was built to celebrate the centenary of the 1901 Federation of Australia and honours the memory of Terry Lavender OAM. It was Terry's vision and leadership that resulted in this scenic, historic, interesting hiking trail from Murray Bridge to Clare.

The hiking trail is a linear trail, with optional side loops, that passes through diverse country along the flanks of the Eastern Mount Lofty Ranges.
The trail has some spectacular views across the outback plains and passes through quiet farming hamlets.

Part of the beauty of the hike is the isolated nature of the trail. Many hamlets no longer have food, accommodation or public facilities such as water, campsites or toilets. 

We recommend planning the trip prior to commencing your journey.
