350 km, Loop, Hilly, Medium, Unsealed/Sealed, Paths/Quiet roads,

This trail wanders through undulating rural fields on quiet country roads. Enjoy a look around the historic gold mining areas and a meal in one of the quaint towns and villages of the Central Tablelands that surround Orange. There are many options for accommodation, there are plenty of places to camp along the way, stay in a rustic hotel or book a motel in the larger towns.

Please see the very useful Orange 360 website for more general information on the area: https://www.orange360.com.au

Thank you to the Orange Treadlies bicycle riding group for developing the original trail.

Thank you also to John Fuller for mapping the ride, providing the waypoints descriptions and photos.

Access: Train: The ‘Bathurst Bullet’ Trains operates daily and allows for a small number of bikes (up to 3) that must confirmed when boarding.  You can also roll your bike onto a train to Lithgow, then ride via the back roads to Millthorpe or Carcoar via Blayney (see the FarOut route Gold Seeker - Central West). Otherwise you’ll need to box your bike for Orange, take a chance getting your bike on a bus at the driver’s discretion OR drive. Transport for NSW are in the process of buying new trains which will hopefully be able to carry more bicycles to regional centres without the need for boxing.
