FarOut Express: NCT Michigan Lower Peninsula

Starting from the mighty Mackinac Bridge, the Trail in Northwest Lower Michigan reveals diverse landscapes from open meadows and ridge-top views to winding rivers and plentiful lakes. Venture through the Manistee National Forest, where sandy soils birth a lush pine-hardwood forest, and marvel at the stunning Pere Marquette and Manistee Rivers. In West Michigan, the Trail snakes through public lands, city and county parks, and follows various pathways like the White Pine Trail. Southern Michigan showcases a beautiful blend of forest and farmland, with many charming lakes scattered throughout. As the Trail crosses into Ohio, it joins the historic Wabash Cannonball Trail, cutting through Maumee State Forest and the Oak Openings Preserve Metropark. Experience an array of natural beauty before culminating in Waterville, where it converges with the Buckeye Trail.
